A New "Leash" on Life-

A video I made to show all of the good work and happy endings that have come out of the rescue group Urgent Part 2 on facebook.

Adopt a shelter/euth list dog today!! These dogs have been given warm cozy beds, food, toys, hugs and kisses but they will give back so much more to the people who rescued them--everyone can agree these are better endings than what would have been.

  1. That was really beautiful, thank you.

I keep meaning to go back and see if Emma was ever posted on their site - I was told she was a death row dog at the SI shelter.

  2. I just wanted to tell you your blog is beautiful! I also know what your going through my oldest Pit Bull Boo Bear needs the same surgery that Winnie needs, but he also has a large bump on his spine which we don't know what that is, but it's his spine you know it can't be good, my heart is breaking because I feel like I'm doing everything I can to get the money but it just isn't enough. I can see all the pain he is in and I actually was going to put him down because the longer it takes to get the money the worse he gets, but that night I looked in his big brown eyes and saw all the life that is left in him.
I feel aweful, we also foster shelter dogs mostly Pit Bulls for Buffalo Paws & Claws and I see him struggling to get past his pain to try to play with them but he gets so tired so quickly. I just don't know what to do anymore. Any advice?

  3. Hi Amber- that is just horrible, how old is Boo Bear? Have you thought about bringing him to a rural vet? I've heard that they are much less expensive and if his life is on this line its better to get it done sooner (and cheaper) than later.
Also, I've done a little research and there are low cost vet clinics in some areas for serious cases and there are also charities for life-threatening cases like Boo Bears: http://www.petandwildlife.com/dog-info/where-to-get-help-paying-vet-bills.html
Maybe one of these would be able to help?? Fortunately for us, Winnie's injury is not life-threatening and can wait a little longer as we try to raise some money (she is young and even though sooner is better with acl tears, she can still get around with a limp.)
Best of Luck- I hope everything works out- also, do you have a blog I can follow? your profile seems to be private.
